Happy Sunday!

Greetings,
It has been a Whirlwind lately and I have not blogged in quite some time...  Well, here's a little something to get ya caught up.

We went to Folkston, GA to help with the Gathering of Eagles Pow wow.  The grounds here are always so beautiful, and accomodating to this event.  There was mowing, clearing, cutting, and such... along with the usual setting up of the Circle, Drum arbor, parking, perimeter, and Tipi Lodges.
by Unknown Photographer
This is always such a nice encampment.  Buffalo Lodge by Grey Squirrel.  There were many dancers, vendors, and demonstators from Maine to Florida.  The weather could not have been any better for all as well, nott too hot not too cool.

After the pow wow was over some people stayed the week until the Saturday event at UNF Jacksonville, FL.  That was a LOT of fun and a great social, there is a cook chickee on the grounds with a huge metal Triangle... we would take turns cooking Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner and when done would ring the "Come and Git It" Bell LOL!!  Then usually we hosted the Campfire, and would sit around and laugh, tell stories and juss catch up.

The event at UNF was nice, there were several campus tours that came by to see us.  We were fed well and enjoyed the students interest in what we were doing.  Utah played his "Stick with Holes" and the demonstrators had a wonderful display.

The dancers were many for such a small event, Special Thanks to all those that came out and supported this event!

And then came time to load out and move on... One broken camper part and 40 miles later... a wonderful stopover with G-ma in Yulee, Fl.

The acceptance into the Pack, does not guarantee, that you will not get bitten by the Individual Wolf.

And finally we come to rest in a spot for the winter.  Wheeew... just in time for me to be busy, busy, busy, online!!  I got the workshop set up and Inventory updated online.  We had a great Turkey Day and Mommy, Daddy, and Doggies Weekend.  Already mapping out this coming Work Week... So Enjoy the weekend that's left, my work week starts at 4am!
Much Love and many prayers ~wrulf

Amazon.com Vendor Charges $200 Shipping for Craft Supplies

Please click on this picture to see it better

On Mon, 17 Sep, 2012 06:39:35 AM EDT, Six Directions Traders - Amazon Marketplace asked:
I was delighted to find your sale on Jingle Bells, as I have been looking for a bulk of them.  Darice Jingle Bells .75 30/Pkg-Silver $0.80
Jingle Bells 1-3/8-Inch, 4-Pack, Gold $0.15   Not sure why the Gold colored .75 bells were $7.57 per pack... that should have been my first Red Flag.  I certainly DO NOT appreciate being Raped for shipping!  How do you possibly come up with Shipping & Handling: $187.40  to ship to Florida USA.  Even if China was shipping them it would not cost this much!  Rest assured this Gouging will be reported to Amazon, Darice, and anyone else I can contact.  If this was an oversight, It is one Hell of an Oversight... Looks like a Scam to me, I have been in Retail for 25 years and selling online for 10 years.  I will hold further opinions and reporting on this situation to give you a chance to respond.
Wrulf

I ordered 40 packs of bells and got a Shipping bill of $187.40!!

Hello,
I apologize for this, because Amazon uploads their own product weights sometimes products will have a very high shipping cost if it is calculated by weight. To try to fix this we charge shipping by the item. Sometimes this can get out of hand when customers are purchasing more than 1 small item. If you would like to place an order we would be more than happy to refund you so that shipping will be more reasonable.
Hope this helps.
Thank You
Christine

So, they want me to just go ahead and make the $200 purchase (most of which is shipping) and they will refund me some?!?  I think I would have to be the Biggest IDIOT on the planet to just go ahead and place that order!  I responded that I would rather purchase Overpriced bells than to Order with them.  AND As I was typing this post, they responded to my response:

On Mon, 17 Sep, 2012 11:50:42 AM EDT,   asked:
Greetings,
So, you are asking me to make the purchase with the outrageous shipping...
and Then you will refund me some?  I think I would rather purchase
overpriced bells than go through all that.
wrulf

Hello,
Thank you for letting us know.  If you need any further assistance in the future do not hesitate to contact us.
Christine
Stuff4Scrapbooking

I think Darice should know that this HORRIBLE Business is promoting their products... I should also like for Amazon to know that this vendor of  is basically blaming them for some sort of Shipping Gouging Scam!  Do NOT be Fooled by Stuff4Scrapbooking's LOW Sale Prices!!!  BEWARE of Poor Business Practice, Bait and Switch, Gouging or "Oh it's Amazon's Fault"

MY Measly little craft store is on Artfire, and I have functionality to charge Proper shipping, with per item additions on multiple purchases, without Raping my Customer.

Only my Opinion, Feel Free to leave your take on this below in a comment if you'd like.

Travels, Pow Wows, and Life

Uncle Charles came to Strong Sun this year!

Greetings,
We were sitting for quite a while longer than we usually do before getting out on the trail.   The accident I was involved in had a Lot to do with that.  But after about 6 months of sitting we covered over 800 miles, visited with family on Holiday, replaced two bad tires, did back to back pow wows, squeezed in our 17th wedding anniversary , visited the caverns, and returned to a wonderful state Park in Virginia where I had a great herbal study last year. We have been here been here 7 days and I am still trying to catch up on chores and things!

The Strong Sun pow wow this year had some rain and bad weather forecasts that I think put a damper on turnout.  However, it was an Amazing pow wow with Arvel Bird, John Sarantos, and all of our NC pow wow family in attendance.  I can say that this was truly the coolest (temperature) Strong Sun Pow wow we have had yet... but it was still pretty hot
All Pow wow pictures can be seen on my Flicker and all videos from all pow wows can be seen on my YouTube

We stayed an extra day after the pow wow and took care of some tire issues.  The guys at Trailers of the East Coast Inc.  took good care of us.  I would Highly recommend them if you are in need and in the area.  See the pictures on Flickr for more shots of the 2007 Daytona 500 car that Clint Boyer crossed the finish line on fire in!!!

Up to the Mountains in Virginia was next, drums of Painted Mountain pow wow.  This was the second time for this particular pow wow.  Arvel Bird performed and it was simply Awesome.  I absolutely LOVE these pow wow grounds up in the mountains.  Definitely check out the video of Arvel doing Cherokee Shuffle, all the dancers had a blast dancing to it.  That Sunday was our 17th Wedding anniversary, we decided we would go to the Dixie Caverns after the pow wow for a couple days to celebrate.

Dixie caverns was Packed, much more so than the 3 years ago we were there last.  We had a really Cool cavern Tour Guide named Brett, be sure to ask for him if you do the tour!  We stayed 2 nights, but it whizzed by and we were on the road again....

Finally reaching our destination and setting up camp for a few weeks here near Richmond, VA.  As I said, it has been a week and I MAY be finally catching up with things.  I still have plenty of Orders to fill, restocking to do, and i want to squeeze in some hiking and herbal studies.  There are never enough hours in a day!!  The SpiderwrulfNDNSupplies side of the shop did rather well for it's first 2 pow wows set up.  I will be re-stocking the beads and bones and still looking for the unusual type supplies and hard-to-find components.  So let us know what you are looking for.

Blogger is messing with my pictures, I hope they come out... you can always click on the picture to see it fully.  Gotta go and get to work, i have a Roach Spreader that needs to be finished beading, and 2 Dream catcher orders to get done as well.
Much Love and many prayers

Back on the Pow wow Trail in NC ~ VA

Greetings,
We spent a wonderful week in the Mountains near Chimney Rock, NC with family.   I Love it so much up here, it really gets the muscles working!  Apparently it was a workout for the 'new' Q as well, we had to spend some unexpected money on the car, Again!  She seems to be happy and running much better now.

While walking around down in Chimney Rock, NC we found a camera on the side of the road with 189 pictures on it.  It must have been this young couple with baby pictures and vacation pictures from Disney.  I am trying to get the picture passed around on Facebook to see if perhaps we may be lucky enough to reunite them with their camera and pictures which go back as far as September 2011.  If you would help to share this with people you know and have them share as well.  I know it is a Longshot, but it is a shame for this couple to lose some of these great pictures.  I know, I lost a camera (through no fault of my own) that had pictures I really wanted to have on it.

We are loading up to head to the Strong Sun Pow Wow this coming weekend.   This year's Strong Sun Pow Wow, in addition to the Concert by John Sarantos on Saturday will feature Arvel Bird Performing throughout the pow wow.  There will be Much more going on, such as the Vietnamese Montagnard.  They were really wonderful addition to the pow wow last year.  If you have not ever seen them, take a look at the short video I took last year, it is such a Distinctive sound and dance.

Back from the Mountains, I So needed this!

Greetings,
We just got back from the Pow wow in Mt Airy, NC (aka... Mayberry RFD) The famous Siamese Twins Eng & Chang Bunker settled in nearby Traphill, NC and that museum is also in Mt Airy.  Very Interesting and Beautiful Area, I needed this Get-Away VERY Badly.  The Pow wow was Simply Wonderful!! A Great Spirit Filled Event for All who Attended!!  The Locals were very receptive and it looks as if we may be back to do it again next year.

It was a Complete Re-Charge for me to Hug and visit with all the family and New Friends on the Trail.  I get so Energized after an event like this and Look forward to the next one.  I have a Lot of Special orders and online shop purchases to fulfill already.

Tropical Storm Beryl was hitting the FL/GA area when we were suppose to return, so we stayed in the mountains a couple more days.  I didn't mind that one bit.

The next up Pow wows are in July at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC and Southwest Community College in Cedar Bluff, VA.  So we need to finish up our work here in Georgia, still have to get the 'new' Q worked on to be road ready and able to tow the Cargo trailer.

Be sure to visit our You Tube Channel to see the Videos from the pow wow, and our Flickr Photo Albums as well for all the pictures taken at this pow wow.
And of course, don't forget to visit the Pow wow Page to see the latest updates on pow wows in your area!!

In Closing, I Thank and Praise the Creator for all the Blessings and Love.
